let it run
I am very stoked on this post, huge tunes and mixes. Squandering my brain and my tracklistings, I found a few gems and dug up a great 2007 Nu skool breaks set from C Majah, so this post yet again will have a healthy supply of old and new tunes.
A huge collaboration release for Jayou and Diplo with their first track.
Partysquad - Murderer (Diplo and Jayou Remix)
Bassnectar does it again with more slick productions. You may have seen him live in victoria on multiple occasions. I want the 320 of this reaaaaaal bad.
After a bit of a name change and music style focus change Cedar became C Majah, he released his first nu school breaks set "Skankin Back Atcha" in 2006 that was in every ravers car and cd wallet. A year later another nu school breaks set was released spreading more of those sweet dance hall influenced mixes. Most islanders knew these ragga breaks as "island breaks" because they represent the island styles so well.
C Majah - Bring The Island Vibe
I just need to post this one last tune before I go, it's beautiful and the vocals are comparable to
La Roux.
Peace

Mashy mushy goodness
What gets our average top 40 music listener to move to something the don't understand? Mashups, let it be Hip Hop, Rock or anything most people enjoy a good mashup. If you are uninformed then let me show you a quick instructional video.
C Majah (Cedar) has been rockin' dance floors all around the island for almost 10 years now, owned and ran "It Sounds Better On Wax" that was open from 2003 until 2008 and threw the best parties in that time as well. You will be seeing more sets from him in the near future, all multi genre and all good. For now you get some killer digital mashups.
Enjoy every one. I really like this set, its nice to sit back, enjoy, blast one and listen to that
Peace

FreakY J Gib collaboration
We are pleased to bring you a 400 fan super duper FreakY J Gib extravaganza. Big plans and big tunes for this post, thank you everyone for your flowing support.
Hey everyone, Jamie Gib here from J-Gib Promotions. Stoked as fuck to be posting on the islands premiere electronic music blog. I am a massive supporter of this incentive, because here on the island, electronic music needs to be showcased in a more universal way, and I think this blog will be able to do that. Shake, rattle and roll motherfuckers.
J-Gib Out.
Homegrown islander AFL(formerly Azrael) Drops insane glitch, pop and swagga with his 15th volume of his smoke sessions podcast. This foray into the glitchier side of the broken beat scene is full of smooth mixes and bangin' tracks to make you wobble while you work. Enjoy!
I wouldn't have this blog nor would many Island parties and music be exposed without Rave Victoria. Over my many years of parties and my obsession with electronic music Rave Victoria has been there. The site was born under the name rave.victoria.bc, in 1999 to update people on upcoming parties around the island. Eventually they started hosting mixes and a forum came about, and now it is one of the most widely used event websites on Vancouver Island, gaining appeal from across Canada, and providing an easy way to find out all the information you need to figure out your weekend plans!
To stay on a glitchy side of things, I am pleased to bring you some glitch hop that is so pure on the spot. It goes so many different directions but you can still see right through it, like a kaleidoscope of sound and feelings.
Now to feature a crew of BC locals from Vancouver, BC. Lemme introduce to you, the Lighta! Crew. The crew consists of Tusk, Daega Sound, Max Ulis, Taal Maala, Camalka, Michael Red, Tank Girl, Mandai, Self Evident, DJ Cure, Condition Red and Angst. A description of what they play? They're all over the map with the best and brighest of broken sounds, taking you on a wild ride with their unique blend of bass heavy smashers and conscious vibes, they are really a shining force in production and performance in BC right now, and their sets at Shambhala Music Festival every summer lets the people know that Vancouver ain't nothin to fuck with.
Lighta! Sound Bass Station on Facebook
And now, another BC local group, goes by the name of the Stickypod Connection, which consists of Stickybuds and JPOD the beat chef. If you have ever seen them in action you know that they are at the top of their game when they are performing, and when you hear their mix of funk, hiphop, reggae, dancehall, midtempo, womp, breakbeats, with live remixes, chops, and dropping acapellas like nobodies business, they continue to impress me with their energy and unique DJ/Live PA sets. Keep your ears peeled folks, cause there just could be more coming to you :)
Superfriends, the best annual summer party that just keeps snowballing and growing every year. J Gib promotions brings the best parties of the south island (This is coming from a seasoned raver, and Jamie doesn't have me typing this at gun point.) Superfriends started as Jamie's brainchild, established in January of 2008 and put into action in May. The lineup featured some of the islands brightest starts including Gatringer, W.A.X, Generic, and Desibel, and some unknowns at the time who rose up to become some of the islands freshest talent including Chemikal and Okibi, and the party was extremely well received. After that, Jamie teamed up with Chris 'Dirt McFilthy' Rowland, and started work on the sequel, which 3 stages of some of the finest in island breaks, electro, dnb, dubstep and glitch, bringing out Sinesthetix, an ex-island local and Lady AK, an island favorite who resides in Vancouver. The party was one of the biggest parties of 2009, gaining J-Gib some major credit in the scene, and paving the way for the epic third installment, taking place on May 22nd, 2010, and is sure to be the hit of the season. Keep your eyes peeled!
Superfriends 3: Ridiculous Amounts of Friends!
Okay we are tired now, so enjoy the music and while your at it read our writeups.
Thanks for listening everyone!
Peace

technical difficulties
For the past while my computer has been giltching out on me due to a nasty virus, Luckily I haven't personally hosted any of these files from my computer so you are safe.
What a great weekend and line up at December Mayhem, good crown, good vibes and one packed funk house. There was technical difficulties that night but our talent rose through everything.Big ups to Jamie Gib for throwing the event Chemikal, Grasp the Erro, DJ Whitness and so many more of our talented DJs.
HUGE respect to Phrase for dropping all my favorite dubstep tunes and dealing with the technical difficulties like a champ and resorting to just a laptop and a mixer.
So young and So talented. You are going places! I posted his set in a previous post so I can't post that. So I will post my favorite track he dropped that night. (I posted it on the facebook page weeks ago sorry for the train spotting)
Now for DJ Whitness, who ripped it up with Grasp The Erro both dealing with the technical problems beautifully. They started out with some KILLER drum and bass but the crowd was stuck on a lower tempo while the sound was down, Nice recovery with some filthy Dubstep though.
I just have to post some of her sets over the next few days because I like em all!

No snow dance?
This is it, December Mayhem, time to bump in the funk house. Such a sick lineup, check it out on facebook. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/event.php?eid=155985514345
I am going to throw more tunes on the tube soon enough. Remember it is the holidays and I have family to visit and share the love with.
I think this post should be a little bit about Jon-e Industry. He was at the Top of the Island DnB scene for quite a while then one day disapeared. When he returned to the Island he began to show us his love for house, fidget and electro. I would love to post his tracks on youtube but sending all those exclusive tunes is a huge ammount of trust for someone he doesn't really know(I will try really hard to get Jon-E tunes on youtube for instant listening pleasure)
Seriously just check out all of these! Golden DnB sets of his with track listing
Jon-E Fucking Industy - DnB Mixes It's JFI when he spins DnB
Then his killer Electro, Fidget and house sets
Jon-E Industry - Electro, fidget mixes
What is the point of only throwing one or two mixes down? They are all good, so enjoy.
Now here's a new jump up track I have been addicted to for a few days
Enjoy everyone, I hope to see you at December Mayhem
Peace

I Got My Old Theme Song
1 More day until December Mayhem, If I could afford flyers, stickers and such to try and promote this blog and the FreakyIslandStyleS Channel I would. Don't be suprised to see some weirdo with a jiffy marker and paper writing websites down a bunch.... lol (Ghetto but I just want the music out there and in peoples ear-pussys)
Does anyone like tasty treats? Here Is a tune I have been searching hard and I even dug through a German blog or two. This weekend is just over the horizon so lets start it off right.
Finger and Kadel - I Got My Stereo
Heres a Tune on the Tube by Neo1 and MC VI. I am lovin' this tune, now Neo1 is making some tracks on the sunny beaches of Thailand. I am stoked to hear those tunes!!!!!
I have to post this old DJ Fresh track because, just like "I got my Stereo" this was one of my own personal theme songs that would just make me more determined while I moved.
Alright, enjoy I know I had fun!
Peace

remember to share!
It has been a while since I have posted any down-loadable tracks, I guess I have been teasing you all so I think It's about time I threw down a bunch of tunes you can listen to until your ears turn into dust.
I have to post more by Jayou because of his different take on dubstep, heavy swagga while keeping his tracks at a fast enough flow to keep a dance floor highly entertained.
The Cheek – Hung Up (Jayou Remix)
A dubstep remix from an older liquid DnB track, makes for an epic tune
In context – Far from here(Ishe remix)
TIPPER!
Some DnB love
The lyrics are just so funny I had to post it.
OH SNAP!! - Plus Size Models(Jakwob Wobble Edit)
I am in the mood for some sun shiney DnB with some beautiful vocals and lyrics. Thanks to Jolene from Kitta MunHa Promotions for sending me this, now I want the warm back!
I hope everyone enjoys this post and I am anticipating my next.

Working Our Way To Mayhem
I am very stoked on all of the feed back that everyone has been showing towards the postings on the facebook page. There is a few mixes that I have been dying to post and just a few tracks I received on the facebook page.
You may have listened to the Drum and Bass set that I posted by White-Light but I really love this house set. It's clean and well mixed.Even though I am a DnB enthusiast, I respect his genre change and I love the choice in tracks!
A newcomer to the DJ scene is playing his first rave gig at December Mayhem on the 12th. I really enjoy this set and I can't wait to here him live this weekend but I am really excited to hear his productions.
Why not post a few tracks featuring a talented producer that is playing in Victoria soon!(info coming soon)
MiM0SA - iN The Trap by TigranMiMoSA
Here is a mini mix, which is just solid. Just click on TigramMiMoSA link under the player for more tracks on sound cloud.

I'm stoked for December Mayhem and I hope you enjoyed that last video post and the Kenzie Clarke mixes. Superb talent is all I can say. Oh and in the last post I forgot to post both of their fan pages.
I just have to post a full mix by Grasp The Erro because of his crazy amount of genre changes and scratching.
Grasp The Erro - Bright Lights Big City
I can't wait to post more from some of the previous DJs and producers I threw down in earlier posts. In the meantime I just have to post this mix, just killer dubstep from a live set.
AnDi Is Ndi -Dubstep mix(un-named so far?)
Now for a tune on the tube by some local favorites with a cool remix of fidget changed the game.
I have more mixes and tracks up my sleeve so stay posted!

Hosting so much talent!
I am in awe of how quickly the following on Facebook has grown. Thanks everyone for joining the group and reading this blog. I am very pleased to post some mixes from two insane DJ's, Kenzie Clarke and Grasp The Erro.
First off an insane scratch video by Grasp the Erro and I love these mashups, scratches and the track selection.
Grasp The Erro - Megablend Routine - Nov 2009 from Grasp The Erro on Vimeo.
DJ Kenzie Clarke, what can I say? She has played up and down island for years and dominated the decks, she even has been know to rock four decks at once. Kenzie is an amazing DJ all around and I am proud to post her mixes
DJ Kenzie Clarke - I Like French(ing)
DJ Kenzie Clarke - Lucky Guess
I hope you are content with these, I will be posting more mixsets by both of these DJs.

Great weekend!
I hope everyone had a good weekend, I know I had a fun time at Toy Soldiers. It wasn't the biggest turn out but there was room to dance. The 3 hours of DJ Jelo felt like an eternity, he just had poor tracks and bad mixes. Everyone else rocked the house, speaking of which Thumper played some pretty good oldschool hard house tracks.
The one thing that wasn't played at that party was good DnB, so why not post a mix from
White-Light just because he tore it up at November Rain a few weeks ago. With a surprisingly smooth transition from house to drum and bass that night. This set though is all DnB check it out.
White-Light - There's Drum 'n Bass In My Personal Space
London Elektricity - Attack Ships On Fire [Hospital]
Rregula, Smooth & Dementia - On A Mission [Drumwise]
Platnum - Trippin' (Nero Remix) [Hard 2 Beat]
Metrik - Anthem 09 [White]
High Contrast - Metamorphosis [Hospital]
Shock One - Don't You Know feat. Elisha King [Viper]
Shock One - Polygon [DnBArena]
Kaskade & Deadmau5 - I Remember (J Majik & Wickaman Remix) [Mau5trap]
Chaos Theory - Anything feat. David Landers [Soul Aspiration]
Logistics - Platinum [Hospital]
Drumsound & Simon Bassline Smith - Tokto Electric [Technique]
Qemists feat Jenna G - On The Run [Ninja Tune]
Shock One - The Sun [Technique]
Jokers Of The Scene - Baggy Bottom Boys (High Contrast Remix) [Fool's Gold]
Ross D - The 215 [Playloop]
Now for another Tune on the Tube from Neon Steve, I am constantly amazed by his work.
I was going to save this for a rainy day but its driving me insane, I must post this track!
Tomorrow is another day, I will have a few more mixes, maybe a track or two. Just come back and find out tomorrow!
Peace

Crushinator and bass
Ready for more tunes? I think so. First off I have to give respect to all of our islands DJ's and producers for giving the music scene what it has today. I'm stoked on the variety there is to offer but more people should spin glitch hop or old school jungle
by the way heres a mix by netsky
Now for the New tune on the tube LSDJ-50 The Crushinator. You may have seen how much I love DnB but I think this track is pretty damned stellar!
I hope you like these because you just wait until there is 300 fans in the Facebook group, that's a special post

Remember Plenty of Liquids
It's cold and flu season, so remember lots of vitamin c and plenty of liquid!
Liquid drum and bass is my favorite, you may or may not have noticed. So I have an excellent liquid mix that won me over from breaks and hard step. There is something about good liquid DnB that grabs you by the deep core and cleanses your mind and spirit. I need to post this because just listening to the complex beats and rolling basslines helped me through some rough times.
This one has got to be my favorite of all of DJ Lixx's mixes(that rhymed) also has an awesome tume by high contrast - Days go by. Damn this set brings me back
Now a Mix by Tedder that I want to see play more often!!!!! His music is so peaceful, fast and uplifting.I still have memories of dancing to his mixing as the sun was rising, the sky was blue and I was in a euphoria. I know its an old school mix you might allready have but this is a sentimental post.
This set is strait from Tedders website, which has a bunch more mixes, upcoming shows and more.
Let me just toss down some tracks here
Logistics - Through the looking glass
I'm sorry to say, eventually I will do one blog post a day. I just don't want to blow my load too early here on youtube tunes but I do have more comming soon so don't worry!

Fuckin' skankz
The name of the post doesn't mean any disrespect, you have to listen to the track on the tube.
Have you seen my new haircut on youtube? Yeah? thought so, well check out this track because the vocal cut is amazing! I'm happy, I hope you are.
So I collaborated with a homeless guy and we spent all day and night searching garbage bins for more GRIME. Just kidding it's dubstep but I feel really dirty now.
Kaiser - Agent 2.5 (Tek-One remix) a nice filthy tune for your ears
Whats that? horrible attention span heres some DnB
Tiesto feat Jonsi - kaleidoscope (High Contrast Remix) a Serene and beautiful remix
Why the hell not, some Old school UK garage
DJ Luck and Mc Neat - little bit of luck
You may notice Rub a dub dub on the pics for these, its a blog much better than mine and right out of the UK but my main concern is helping our Producers and DJ's, while sharing with you tracks that I like. I sample them for your convenience and just have a passion for sharing music.

New post plan
I lied about posting The Wobble Skankz this post, but there is always after work or tomorrow so don't worry you Wobble heads! There is still time and I have more tricks up my sleeve.
Last night I got 2 new tracks from Neon Steve, who hands down has become my favorite island producer. I just love everything he comes out with and in the future I would like more but these things take time so be patient, view, comment and rate his videos and help get his name out there.
Now for a video I found, thats just a KILLER Damian Marley dubstep remix
Sorry I don't have any downloads for you at this point in time it's time consuming and I need to go to work so in 8-12 hours I can find you some SIIIICK tunes/mixes

New tunes, much love
I am very, very, very, happy to say that I just posted a new track by Neo1 and D-Set aka Funk'n Ruff. It reminds me of the garage I used to hear these guys play live.
Speaking of live, it tore shit up when Neo played it at November Rain 2009 and I was one of the lucky few who knew this track and now I pass the wisdom on to you.
Now heres a track download from Mt Eden Dubstep, I know, I know hes not local but I like his work and some of his epic, girly or both dubstep
Bat For lashes - Daniel (Mt Eden Dubstep remix)
I hope you enjoy these and tomorrow is more tunes from The Wobble Skankz on the tube, maybe a mix or a track or two. keep posted

Dancing In The Rain
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=171593661859
If you were at Nevember Rain last night you may have had nothing short of a good time. Big Ups for KittaMunha Promotions for putting on such a good party every year. These guys are busy with parties and now Euphoria Nights which has turned out great and growing stronger with Chemikal and Steve-O which should make you have terriffic eargasms and Kidd Richie has that residency for a reason so be at the spice lounge on tonight and many up coming sundays. Great job on the party!
I still have tracks up my sleeve but for now I'm just going to post some downloadable tracks I have found from a few artists around the world
Deadmau5 - I Remember(Caspa remix) Just beautiful dubstep
M83 We Own The Sky (Udachi Remix) Why was I the only person that knew this track in the crowd at November Rain?
Mt Eden Dubstep - Sierra Lione A terrific producer from New Zealand, has great DnB too.
The Boog A Loo Crew - All Green Nice not as surreal as the last 3 tracks
The Zombie Disco Squad - Eurovion (Boog A Loo Crew remix)
Some friends got me into a dub steppin mood so here you go, I hope you enjoy those.
Mt Eden is such a good producer, just let me rip one video off of his channel
Don't worry every one my passion will not dwindle with this blog and if you are a producer or a DJ send me a track or a mix and I will listen to it and maybe post it.
Join, Subscribe, Follow and lets get our artists the exposure they deserve!

I Heart Bass!
I am happy to say that I will be posting tracks by Neo1 very soon!!!! I first saw him spinning kick ass speed garage years ago and now I never knew he was such a good and busy producer! Love the bass lines and the remixes, just wait and see.
2 more video tunes for your listening pleasure, The Wobble Skankz - White Widow and a pretty kick ass dubstep remix of White widow. First the dubstep because I love dubstep and I always respect a genre change.
The heavy bass and sound that makes you uncontrollably bob your head while standing in one place, nice beat and progression. I love it and I am a DnB enthusiast.
I was listening to this not to long ago ironcally not to long before Neo1 sent me some of his productions so why not? I love speed garage and I love the sound he can produce.
Neo1 - Speed Garage Vol.IV - Bassick Justice
Hope You enjoy every one, I'm always adding new tracks and looking for more so send them to me Dustin Nichol, you can find me in the facebook group

Wobbles, whomps and mashups
Hey all, I'm happy to say the FreakYIslaDStyleY youtube channel will be very active for the next little while.I have to give mad props The Wobble Skankz for getting their tunes for sale, and getting booked all over the island.
Normally I listen to Liquid DnB, breaks, hiphop mashups, well pretty much anything that catches my attention with a broken beat but The Wobble Skankz have caught my ears and if you want their tracks don't ask me, buy em on beatport.
Here we go, first track of many and I want more. (I thought a Wobbley chess board would be kinda suitable for this track)
asterix wobbliex - ALet One Rip (The Wobble Skankz Remix)
Now a Whomp, an old school whomp with a free download.
Ed Solo & Skool of Thought - We play the music
And a mashup, I randomly found it just surfing youtube but I approve.Gangster as a mutha fucka! snow hey oh tupac remix -DJ Jaydee

More video tunes comming
My inbox has been pretty active latley, which means good news for you wobble headz. Local favorites The Wobble Skankz are getting showcased on the FreakYIslanDStyleY channel through out the next week or so with links to buy their tracks on beatport.
Another up and comming local who has been a good friend and the behind the scenes glue for so many parties. This guy used to be lead vocals for a local metal band and now is producing electro and fidget. LSDJ-50, who has also produced a track with the Wobble Skankz which you will see on youtube tomorrow maybe.
Please don't ask me to give you downloads, this is my blog, its staying legit and on the level I want our signed producers to go places and our unsigned to get signed and do the same.
My playlist I have been raping my brain for has enough tracks to put on a playlist of classics I ripped from youtube which I call "Do You Remember?" with classic tracks we all rocked out to in a filthy barn, Daft Punk, stanton warriors. Its worth a listen.
"Do you Remember?" playlist
Now for a mix to something I have been addicted to for a while and if you like Neon Steve's tracks you have to see his set!
Neon Steve - Do Not Bleach 2.0
Enjoy everyone and thanks for all the support. Remember I'm a music junkie, hungry for more music so send your productions or mixes to my facebook and get them heard.

Day two more Drum and Bass
On account of my crippling Drum and Bass addiction I have to post a mix by Mason, its pur sunshine the whole way through it. This set goes directly onto "Music I would make sweet sweet love down by the fireside to" playlist on my Ipod. :)
And yes I'm awake early getting ready for work and rocking out some DnB. Anyone who I have been sharing music with has probably had me send them this track by Druid which is so refreshing and different. I'm stoked I found the mp3 file
Druid - Right Here (manhattans bootleg)
Have fun and Enjoy
one more thing more DnB. Don't worry I will get off of this genre eventually

First day out
Ok so I'm just starting this to promote the best music on the Island,
I would like to start it out right so I thought it be cool to post some drum and bass and dubstep sets just stocked full of great oldschool anthems from one of my favorite local DJs: Okibi.
DnB got me into electronic music and so many others on the island remember jungle parties.
Now Dubstep has emerged from the underground and swept the island.
This post is to show how the music scene has changed over the years.

http://northwestjungle.com/music/mp3/djcomp/(2009)WBNWJDJCOMP-Live-Okibi2.mp3
I have to give mad respect to Union Sound System and Coast Media Collection Both well laid out websites I hope to work a little closer with them, help promote the artists and maybe have a blog thats half as good
http://unionsoundsystem.com/2008/12/22/okibi-headspace/
http://unionsoundsystem.com/2009/01/13/okibi-headspace-2/
Enjoy, I sure did and I wish i could find the link that has all the mixes but check out unionsoundsystem.com
